There are two admission pathways to the Bachelor of Design. Applicants may be considered via one of the following:
1. Guaranteed* ATAR/Rank of 70.00 or above or VET Qualification: Certificate IV, or via
2. Portfolio and interview.
Applicants who wish to be considered via the portfolio pathway must submit by the related close date and therefore have the opportunity to secure their place in an early round.

*Guaranteed ATAR/Rank applies until the major offer round for each intake. Trimester 1, 2024 offers were made to all applicants who met the Portfolio and Interview requirements and to applicants with a minimum adjusted ATAR/Rank of 63.00.
Prior OP students: Applicants who graduated with an OP in or before 2019 can apply to Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) for an ATAR statement. For more information visit qcaa.qld.edu.au/senior/australian-tertiary-admission-rank-atar.
English language requirements apply to International applicants and other applicants whose previous study was undertaken in a language other than English. The minimum English language requirements for such applicants for entry to these programs are described below.

To be considered, applicants must apply via QTAC/UAC (or Internal Transfer for current Griffith University students). There are two admission pathways to the Bachelor of Design. Applicants may be considered via one of the following:

2. Portfolio and interview.

Portfolio applications open and fee payment required: 1 August - 4 September 2024.
Applicants will still be able to apply after these dates and be considered for ATAR/Rank admission.

Selection for admission to this degree is made on the basis of academic merit or satisfactory portfolio and interview.
Selection for admission is competitive as the number of applicants generally exceeds the places available. The minimum requirement for eligibility for admission is completion of Year 12 of secondary school or equivalent academic achievement or satisfactory portfolio and interview.

Domestic applicants from NSW and ACT should apply for admission through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC).

Griffith offers a number of admission pathways to your preferred degree. By preferencing both the Bachelor of Design and the Diploma of Design/Bachelor of Design, if you don't quite meet entry requirements for the bachelor degree, you may be offered a place in the undergraduate diploma. Upon successful completion of the Diploma of Design you will be transferred into the second year of the Bachelor of Design program. Visit griffith.edu.au/undergraduate-diplomas for more information.

International students who successfully complete the Direct Entry Program (DEP) will satisfy the English Language requirements for this Griffith degree.
The Direct Entry Program (DEP) is not available for Domestic students.
