Bachelor of Communication

To be eligible for the award of the Bachelor of Communication (BComn), a student must complete 24 units or equivalent as prescribed below:

• four core subjects at Level 1, one core subject at Level 2 and one core double subject at Level 3;
• the Level 1 foundation subjects for their chosen majors;
• two major sequences of six level 2 and 3 subjects each from:
  • Business Communication
  • Creative Writing
  • Journalism
  • Public Relations
  • Screen and Media Studies;
• three elective subjects

Other Program Requirements

You must successfully complete:

• no more than 10 subjects at Level 1 (the first number in a course code denotes the level)
• At least 6 subjects at Level 3 or higher
• At least eight subjects must be Level 2 or 3 Griffith University subjects studied via Open Universities Australia

This degree may be awarded with Distinction where a student achieves a minimum program GPA of 6.5 with no failed courses. The words "This award was achieved with Distinction" will be recorded on the testamur.
