Bachelor of Journalism

For Domestic and those International students not required to complete the English Language Enhancement course

To be eligible for the award of Bachelor of Journalism (BJour), a student must acquire 240 credit points as prescribed below:

• gain 80 credit points for the first year courses comprising:
• 30 credit points of core courses
• 50 credit points of elective courses (with consideration for specialisation prerequisites)
• gain 160 credit points for the second and third year courses comprising:
• 40 credit points of core courses
• 80 credit points of specialisation courses (i.e. 2 x 40 credit points specialisations)
• 40 credit points of Journalism elective courses (including a minimum of a 10 credit points major project or internship)
• gain at least 60 credit points for courses at third year level.

This degree may be awarded with Distinction where a student achieves a minimum program GPA of 6.5 with no failed courses. The words "This award was achieved with Distinction" will be recorded on the testamur.

Domestic students enrolled in this program whose first language is not English may complete the following English Language Enhancement Course as an elective.

Students whose first language is English are not permitted to undertake this course.
