Selection for admission to an undergraduate degree is made on the basis of academic merit.
Selection for admission is competitive as the number of applicants generally exceeds the places available. The minimum requirement for eligibility for admission is completion of Year 12 of secondary school or equivalent academic achievement.
Prerequisites for admission may be specified in terms of levels of achievement in particular Year 12 subjects. Prerequisite conditions may be satisfied by other study or experience which is considered to be equivalent to the Year 12 prerequisites. Domestic applicants should apply for admission through the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC).
Domestic applicants from NSW and ACT should apply for admission through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC).

This program is only available for application by Griffith College students, approved articulation pathway students, and to continuing students.
From 2025, commencing students are referred to the Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) (1416).

* The ISLPR test will only be accepted if it has been administered by ISLPR Language Services, 9 Gowrie Street, Mt Gravatt, Queensland.
We will accept English language test scores from one test sitting OR a maximum of two test sittings in a six month period only if the following criteria are met:
English test results must be no more than two years old.
The Direct Entry Program (DEP) pathway is not accepted for this program.

Enrolled students and graduates of this program will be eligible to apply for registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) subject to meeting any additional requirements that may be stipulated by the AASW. As these requirements may change from time to time, students should contact the AASW to confirm registration requirements. Credit will only be awarded in accordance with the requirements of the Australian Social Work Education and Accreditation Standards (ASWEAS) 2020 Section 5.3 Credit Transfer: BSW and BSW (Hons). Recognition of Prior Learning will only be awarded in accordance with the requirements of the ASWEAS 2020 Section 10 Recognition of Prior Learning.
