For the award of Bachelor of Dental Technology/Bachelor of Dental Prosthetics (BDentTech/BDentProsthet), you must successfully complete 320 credit points, made up of:

  • 320 credit points for the Core Module.
Exit point

To be eligible to exit with the Bachelor of Dental Technology award, you must successfully complete 240 credit points as specified in the course list. To exit, you should apply for a program transfer.

Placement requirements

You must successfully complete:

  • a recognised first aid certificate with CPR (at your own expense) by the end of the first trimester in Year 1 - certificates that expire during the program must be renewed.

This degree may be awarded with Distinction where a student achieves a minimum program GPA of 6.5 with no failed courses. The words "This award was achieved with Distinction" will be recorded on the testamur.

All laboratory practicum and clinical courses within the program are designated for the purposes of exclusion. The Dean and Head of School will carefully monitor any instances of exclusion. The designated courses are as follows:

Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level and Type

The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) is the national policy for regulated qualifications in Australian education and training. The Bachelor of Dental Prosthetics and the Bachelor of Dental Technology are accredited as an AQF Level 7 - Bachelor Degree.

English Language Enhancement

All undergraduate International students are required to complete an English Language Enhancement Course unless specific criteria are met as specified in Section 5.0 Qualifications Procedure.
