Griffith students may not apply for the Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology program by submitting an internal transfer.

Admission Requirements from 2025

Standard Pathway

Applicants who have not undertaken previous tertiary level study at diploma level or higher in the field of Exercise Science (or equivalent)

Applicants with prior Exercise Science (or equivalent) study that meets the credit requirement for admission into the Exercise Science progression pathway below, will not be made an offer under the standard pathway and be advised to apply for the correct entry pathway. 

Exercise Science Progression Pathway

Applicants with prior Exercise Science (or equivalent) tertiary study at Diploma level or higher that meet the equivalent of 1 year FTE or more are eligible to be considered for this pathway and will be assessed based on the amount of credit from their prior related study to determine the year level for admission. Each year level will have a quota of places. The number of available places and applicant pool will determine the minimum selection rank for each year level. The applicant's selection rank will be based on the prior related study that meets the credit requirements for admission. 

Applicants with prior Exercise Science (or equivalent) tertiary study at Diploma level or higher that meet the credit requirement for admission into the Exercise Science progression pathway below, will not be made an offer under the standard pathway and be advised to apply for the correct pathway.

How to apply

QTAC applications for Trimester 1-2025 close on 30 December 2024.

New applications lodged after 9 December 2024 may not be assessed in time for the January offer round. Applications for this program close 30 December 2024, so applicants may add this program to their preferences until this date, however no guarantee is given that applications will be assessed in time for the January offer round. After 30 December 2024, no new applicants can apply, but existing applicants can reorder this preference. Late offers after the January offer round will only be made if places remain in the program.

This program has a Trimester 1 intake. The University will consider opening a Trimester 2 intake after enrolment numbers are finalised from Trimester 1. Applicants who are interested in studying this program are encouraged to apply for the Trimester 1 intake as Trimester 2 is not guaranteed.

Standard Program

Selection for admission to an undergraduate degree is made on the basis of academic merit.

Selection for admission is competitive as the number of applicants generally exceeds the places available. The minimum requirement for eligibility for admission is the completion of Year 12 of secondary school or equivalent academic achievement.

Prerequisites for admission may be specified in terms of levels of achievement in particular Year 12 subjects. Prerequisite conditions may be satisfied by other study or experience which is considered to be equivalent to the Year 12 prerequisites. Additional Admission Pathway from 2025

Exercise Science Progression Pathway

Applicants with a year or more study in the Bachelor of Exercise Science from Griffith University or another institution are eligible for the Exercise Science Progression Pathway. 

Selection for admission to the Exercise Science Progression Pathway is competitive as the number of applicants generally exceeds the places available. Applications for this pathway are assessed on a case-by-case basis and will be ranked based on your completed Bachelor of Exercise Science (or equivalent related) related study. 


Important offer advice: Should you receive an offer into this program you will be required to enrol into classes* within a short timeframe. This information will be included in your Starting@Griffith email and expressed in the number of days from the day of issue of your email. For QTAC applicants this is inline with the offer response date in your offer email, however Griffith accepts close of business that day - 5pm (AEST). Please note that the number of days can vary depending on when the offer was made. This requirement applies to all applicants irrespective of how you applied and/or whether you accepted conditionally or unconditionally. If you do not enrol* into at least one class for your program by 5pm on the response day your offer will lapse. Lapsed offers are not automatically reinstated and are subject to available places.

*Enrolling into classes means that you are advising when you are attending class/es. Enrolment must be submitted.

Note: Applicants are not permitted to defer an offer. Should you be unable to accept an offer, you must re-apply for entry in the following year.

Language requirements

English language requirements apply to International applicants and other applicants whose previous study was undertaken in a language other than English. The minimum English language requirements for such applicants for entry to this program are as follows:

  • A minimum overall band score of 7.0 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 6.5
  • OR a minimum score of 580 on TOEFL
  • OR an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 92 (no score less than 22)
  • OR no score less than 4 in each skill of the ISLPR (conducted by ISLPR Language Services only)
  • OR a minimum overall score of 185 (no score less than 176) on C2 Proficiency (formerly Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English)
  • OR an overall score of 65 in the Pearson Test of English (Academic) with no score less than 58

English test results must be no more than two years old.

The Direct Entry Program (DEP) pathway is not accepted for this program.

Notwithstanding the amount of credit which may be granted towards a Bachelor degree as set out in Section 8.1.2 of the Policy, a student undertaking a four-year Bachelor degree (320 credit points) is required to complete a minimum of 110 credit points of Level 2,3 and 4 courses which are part of the degree requirements of the Griffith degree which the student is undertaking.

Credit will only be awarded in accordance with the requirements of the Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) Course Accreditation Guide for Education Providers Version 5 (2019) - 1.5 Advanced Standing (Credit) for Recognition of Prior Learning.
