To be eligible for the award of the Bachelor of Music (Honours) [BMus(Hons)], a student must acquire 80 credit points as specified below:

Traditional Research pathway

  • Gain 60 credit points for the core module
  • Gain 20 credit points from the flexible module

OR

Artistic Creative Practice pathway

  • Gain 60 credit points for the core module
  • Gain 20 credit points from the flexible module

Honours

Classification of Honours

This degree with Honours may be awarded in the following classes:

  • Class I Honours
  • Class IIA Honours
  • Class IIB Honours
  • Class III Honours

The class of Honours to be awarded to each student in this degree will be determined by the relevant Assessment Board on the basis of a Program GPA and a minimum percentage for the Dissertation as outlined in the Dissertation Management Procedure.

The courses contributing to the minimum Honours Weighted Average (HWA) are 6000QCM_P1 Honours Research Project 1 and 6000QCM_P2 Honours Research Project 2. Or 6007QCM_P1 Artistic Practice 1 and 6007QCM_P2 Artistic Practice 2.
