To be eligible for the award of Doctor of Medicine (MD), you must successfully complete 320 credit points of core courses.
Note: All core courses within the program are designated for the purposes of exclusion in accordance with the Academic Standing, Progression and Exclusion Policy. A student who fails a designated course will be subject to review by the School of Medicine and Dentistry Assessment Board and may be excluded from the program.
To be eligible for both awards, students must satisfy the degree requirements of each award.
The PhD is awarded on the basis of a thesis prepared under supervision that makes an original, significant and extensive contribution to knowledge and understanding in the relevant field of study as judged by independent experts applying accepted contemporary international standards.
