To be eligible for the award of Master of Education and Professional Studies Research (MEdProfStRes), a student must acquire 80 credit points as prescribed below:

  • gain 10 credit points for 8901EDN Foundations of Educational Research
  • gain 10 credit points for 8903EDN Designing Educational Research
  • gain 10 credit points for 8905EDN Qualitative Research in Education or Elective*
  • gain 10 credit points for 8907EDN Quantitative Research in Education or Elective*
  • gain 40 credit points for Dissertation courses 8911EDN_P1 and 8911EDN_P2

* HDR candidates may replace one of the research methodology courses for an elective at AQF Level 9 in a related area.

Progress review requirements

Completion of progress reporting requirements is a condition of continued candidature for higher degree research programs. The following progress review requirements must be completed for the Doctor of Education program:

  • completion of the Confirmation of Candidature Milestone within 6 months (equivalent full-time) of commencement.
