The Master of Educational Studies provides advanced, professionally oriented studies for practising teachers, administrators, non-government education providers, and vocational, adult and continuing education professionals.
This degree gives students the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of wide-ranging topics which affect educational settings globally. The degree will offer significant professional advantage in career advancement and/or broadening career options.

This program is not an initial teacher education program and will not lead to registration as a teacher in Queensland schools.
The Master of Educational Studies is offered on -campus in intensive or full-time modes at the Mt Gravatt campus.
To be classed as a full-time student, you are required to enrol in a minimum number of credit points each standard study period. The minimum credit points for full-time enrolment in this program is 30 credit points.
Trimester 1 and Trimester 2 are deemed standard study periods. As Trimester 3 is a non-standard study period, continuing students moving from one year to the next will not be required to study during this trimester to be eligible for student income support.
Domestic students who commence in Trimester 3 may be eligible for student income support from the onset of study provided they are enrolled full-time in this study period.

The Community Internship course is available to all Masters students who have completed an undergraduate degree. The course provides an opportunity for students to develop a range of professional and personal skills while making a difference in their community through combining volunteering with academic learning through a community internship organised either by the University or the student may use a current volunteering activity for the 50-hour minimum volunteering component of the course.
Successful completion of the program will equip graduates for a rewarding and productive career in a range of educational settings, enabling graduates to work within Australia and throughout the world.
A variety of employment opportunities await graduates such as leading curriculum innovators, learning and teaching specialists, learning support teachers, educational administration, training and development, leading teacher, educational management consultant, teacher in adult and community education, specialist practitioner consultant, policy and planning officer, education officer, school principal, vice-principal and lecturer/tutor.
The indicative annual tuition fee is calculated based on a standard full-time study load which is usually 80 credit points.
