To be eligible for the award of Master of Global Development (MGlobalDev), a student must successfully complete 160 credit points including:

  • 60 credit points for core courses;
  • 60 credit points of listed electives and 40 credit points of postgraduate free-choice electives; OR
    • 50 credit points of listed electives and 50 credit points for dissertation courses.

To be eligible for the award of Master of Global Development (MGlobalDev), a student admitted with 40 credit points of advanced standing must successfully complete 120 credit points including:

  • 40 credit points for core courses;
  • 40 credit points of listed electives and 40 credit points of postgraduate free-choice electives; OR
    • 30 credit points of listed electives and/or postgraduate free-choice electives and 50 credit points for dissertation courses.

To be eligible for the award of Master of Global Development (MGlobalDev), a student admitted with 80 credit points of advanced standing must successfully complete 80 credit points including:

  • 20 credit points for core courses;
  • 40 credit points for listed electives and 20 credit points of postgraduate free-choice electives; OR
    • 10 credit points of listed electives and/or postgraduate free choice electives and 50 credit points for dissertation courses.

This degree may be awarded with Distinction where a student achieves a minimum program GPA of 6.5 with no failed courses. The words "This award was achieved with Distinction" will be recorded on the testamur.

Exit point

To be eligible to exit the Master of Global Development program with the Graduate Certificate in Global Development award, a student must acquire 40 credit points including at least 30 credit points of core courses.

To exit, a student should apply for a program transfer.
