Pathway 1: 1 year (80 credit points) completion of related IT bachelor degree AND three years IT professional experiences

To be eligible for the award of Master of Cyber Security (MCybSec), a student must acquire 80 credit points as prescribed below:

  • Gain 80 credit points for the core module

Pathway 2: 1.5 years (120 credit points) completion of related IT bachelor degree

To be eligible for the award of Master of Cyber Security (MCybSec), a student must acquire 120 credit points as prescribed below:

  • Gain 80 credit points for the core module
  • Gain 40 credit points for flexible module

Pathway 3: 2 years (160 credit points) completion of any bachelor degree

To be eligible for the award of Master of Cyber Security (MCybSec), a student must acquire 160 credit points as prescribed below:

  • Gain 40 credit points for the foundation module
  • Gain 80 credit points for the core module
  • Gain 40 credit points for flexible module

This degree may be awarded with Distinction where a student achieves a minimum program GPA of 6.5 with no failed courses. The words "This award was achieved with Distinction" will be recorded on the testamur.

Exit points

To be eligible to exit the Masters program with one of the following awards, a student must acquire 40 credit points of prescribed courses from:

  • Graduate Certificate in Information Technology (3220)

To exit, a student should apply for a program transfer.

Note: The above Graduate Certificate exit points are not available to students admitted to the Masters program with advanced standing.
