To be eligible for the award of Juris Doctor (JD), you must successfully complete 240 credit points as prescribed below:

  • gain 200 credit points of prescribed courses;
  • gain 40 credit points of listed Law electives.

OR

To be eligible for the award of Juris Doctor (JD) with a major in International Law, you must successfully complete 240 credit points as prescribed below:

  • gain 180 credit points of prescribed courses;
  • gain 40 credit points for the major in International Law from the listed International Law electives (20 credit points of which must be 7000-coded courses);
  • gain 20 credit points of listed International Law electives or listed Law electives.

OR

To be eligible for the award of Juris Doctor (JD) with a major in Canadian Law, you must successfully complete 240 credit points as prescribed below:

  • gain 230 credit points of prescribed courses;
  • gain a 10 credit point listed law elective.

OR

To be eligible for the award of Juris Doctor (JD) with a major in Migration Law, you must successfully complete 240 credit points as prescribed below:

  • gain 220 credit points of prescribed courses;
  • gain 20 credit points of listed Law electives.

This degree may be awarded with Distinction where a student achieves a minimum program GPA of 6.5 with no failed courses. The words "This award was achieved with Distinction" will be recorded on the testamur.
