Advanced Screen Production major (available for entry in Trimester 1 only)

To be eligible for the award of Master of Screen Production (MScrPr) with a major in Advanced Screen Production, you must successfully complete 160 credit points made up of the following courses:

  • Standard pathway:
    • 110 credit points of core courses;
    • 30 credit points of listed electives;
    • 20 credit points of free choice electives.
  • Second specialisation pathway (with Program Director approval):
    • 90 credit points of core;
    • 60 credit points of listed electives;
    • 10 credit points of free choice electives.

To be eligible for the award of Master of Screen Production (MScrPr) with a major in Advanced Screen Production, a student admitted with 40 credit points of advanced standing must successfully complete 120 credit points made up of the following courses:

  • 90 credit points of core courses;
  • 30 credit points of listed electives.

To be eligible for the award of Master of Screen Production (MScrPr) with a major in Advanced Screen Production, a student admitted with 80 credit points of advanced standing must successfully complete 80 credit points made up of the following courses:

  • 60 credit points of core courses;
  • 20 credit points of listed electives.

Digital Filmmaking major

To be eligible for the award of Master of Screen Production (MScrPr) with a major in Digital Filmmaking, you must successfully complete 160 credit points made up of the following courses;

  • 150 credit points of core courses;
  • 10 credit points of free-choice electives.

To be eligible for the award of Master of Screen Production (MScrPr) with a major in Digital Filmmaking, a student admitted with 40 credit points of advanced standing must successfully complete 120 credit points made up of the following courses:

  • 110 credit points of core courses;
  • 10 credit points of free-choice electives.

To be eligible for the award of Master of Screen Production (MScrPr) with a major in Digital Filmmaking, a student admitted with 80 credit points of advanced standing must successfully complete 80 credit points made up of the following courses:

  • 70 credit points of core courses;
  • 10 credit points of free-choice electives.

This degree may be awarded with Distinction where a student achieves a minimum program GPA of 6.5 with no failed courses. The words "This award was achieved with Distinction" will be recorded on the testamur.

Exit points

To be eligible to exit the Masters program with the Graduate Certificate in Screen Production award, you must complete 40 credit points of first year courses in either major.

Note: The Graduate Certificate exit point is not available to students admitted to the Masters program with advanced standing.

To be eligible to exit the Masters program with the Graduate Diploma of Screen Production award, you must complete 80 credit points of first year courses in either major.

To exit, a student should apply for a program transfer.
