This postgraduate program provides case managers in diverse practice roles, including rehabilitation coordinators, practitioners in the employment services industry and people in related human service and allied health roles with the skills and knowledge to effectively manage programs that support their clients to achieve personal and system goals.
This includes a wide range of human service and rehabilitation programs supporting diverse populations with complex needs, assisting clients to obtain and maintain employment and supporting people with injury or disability to achieve functional and participation goals.
You will be introduced to the values, theories, frameworks, principles and skills of person-centred planning, case management, and communication skills, and therefore become more efficient at determining individual need and planning, coordinating and procuring a range of appropriate services and supports to promote the goals of diverse clients.
As part of this degree you have the opportunity to get community-based and/or work-integrated learning by choosing Community Internship as one of your elective subjects. You can help the community, change lives and make the planet a better place while gaining academic credit. Additionally, you will engage with a multidisciplinary cohort of fellow student in this degree, and the chance to make new professional connections, while under the tutelage of our experienced academic staff.
This program can provide you with the knowledge and skills required to transition your career into a new industry. Whether you have existing human services experience or are undergoing a career transition, you will be prepared for effective case management work within your own profession and for further studies in rehabilitation counselling, human services or community mental health practice, as this degree offers a pathway for you to continue study with the Master of Rehabilitation Counselling.
This Graduate Certificate program is offered on a part-time basis via online delivery and is only available to International students studying in their home country or in Australia on a visa other then a student visa.
Taking a leave of absence from this program is permitted, subject to conditions outlined in the Enrolment Procedure.
This course is relevant for people interested in working in allied health and human service settings, including employment services, occupational and insurance-based rehabilitation, community mental health or NDIS related services.

Students who successfully complete the Graduate Certificate in Case Management with a grade point average of at least 5.0 may apply for admission to the Master of Rehabilitation Counselling (5578).

If an International student changes to a different program they will be subject to the approved program fee for the trimester in which they are enrolled.
If an undergraduate student obtains permanent resident status in Australia after commencing study in a program, and the student can provide evidence of permanent resident status prior to the census date (of the trimester in which they are enrolled), the student will be provided with a domestic fee-paying place.
The student may then apply for a Commonwealth supported place at the next admission period provided that the student satisfies the conditions for transfer from a domestic fee-paying place to a Commonwealth supported place as set out in the Fees and Charges Procedure.
If a postgraduate student obtains permanent resident status in Australia after commencing study in a program, and the student can provide evidence of permanent resident status prior to the census date (of the trimester in which they are enrolled), the student will automatically be considered for a Commonwealth supported place (subject to availability) or a domestic fee-paying place as applicable for the program.
If a research student obtains permanent resident status in Australia after commencing study in a program, and the student can provide evidence of permanent resident status prior to the census date (of the trimester in which they are enrolled), the student will automatically be considered for a Commonwealth Government Research Training Program (RTP) Fee Offset or a domestic fee-paying place as applicable for the program.
