For Domestic and those International students not required to complete the English Language Enhancement course

For the award of Bachelor of Urban and Environmental Planning (Honours)/Bachelor of Science [BUrbanEnvPlan(Hons)/BSc], you must successfully complete 400 credit points, made up of the core courses AND

  • 60 credit points for a Science major.
Other program requirements

You must successfully complete:

  • no more than 130 credit points of Level 1 courses for both awards;
  • at least 40 credit points of Level 3 courses (or higher) for each award.

Bachelor of Science

This degree may be awarded with Distinction where a student achieves a minimum program GPA of 6.5 with no failed courses. The words "This award was achieved with Distinction" will be recorded on the testamur.

Honours

Bachelor of Urban and Environmental Planning (Honours)

Classification of Honours

This degree with Honours may be awarded in the following classes:

  • Class I Honours
  • Class IIA Honours
  • Class IIB Honours

The class of Honours to be awarded to each student in this degree will be determined on the basis of the GPA achieved for the 80 credit points of nominated courses and a minimum percentage for the Dissertation as outlined in the Dissertation Management Procedure.

If you do not achieve the standard necessary to be awarded Class IIB Honours you will be required to transfer to the Bachelor of Urban and Environmental Planning/Bachelor of Science (1512) or Bachelor of Urban and Environmental Planning/Bachelor of Science (1516) to be awarded the degree without Honours.

Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level and Type

The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) is the national policy for regulated qualifications in Australian education and training. The Bachelor of Science is accredited as an AQF Level 7 - Bachelor Degree.The Bachelor of Urban and Environmental Planning (Honours) is accredited as an AQF Level 8 - Bachelor Honours Degree.

English Language Enhancement

Domestic students enrolled in this program whose first language is not English may complete the following English Language Enhancement Course as an elective.
